The annual Friends of Scouting (FOS) campaign makes it possible to provide funding for Scouting programs and activities across all 15 of our Central Texas counties. These programs and opportunities prepare youth for a future where they will lead as responsible, resourceful, and resilient people. People like you, who give to Friends of Scouting provide the vital investment needed for advancement, camps, youth leadership training, camp scholarships, adult leader training, and unit support.

This year as a thank you, we have exclusive items for different levels of giving. All donors at any level will receive a Friends of Scouting Magnet. Donors at the $175 and above will receive a custom council patch for this year, along with the magnet. Donors at $300 and above will receive a leather logo hat, along with the previous prizes. Our $500 and above donors will receive all of this, along with a BSA vacuum mug.

For every scout, the Capitol Area Council spends $250 dollars per year to help them have the resources and trained leaders that they need for a fulfilling, safe, and lifelong experience. We do this every year without a council fee, because we want scouting to be as affordable as possible for every child who wants the opportunity to experience scouting. Membership Fees go straight to national, so your support helps local scouting stay vibrant.

If you want to invest in the future of scouting in our council, consider giving this Friends of Scouting season for at least one scout’s year at $250. If you can give more, know that your larger investment in Friends of Scouting will be helping even more kids that really need it. If you can’t afford to give that much, it’s no problem at all. Even a small donation makes an ocean of difference (drop by drop, the ocean is filled). Donations can also be spread out monthly as a recurring donation (only $25/month is $300/year)!

Another way you can help is to act as your unit Friends of Scouting Champion. Help schedule a date (Blue & Gold or Court of Honor are ideal) for a District Volunteer to come present to your families. Presentations will be short (4-7min) and can fit into your unit’s schedule. You can contact your unit commissioner or our District Executive to schedule (Justin’s email is justin.brundin@gmail.com and his cell phone number is 928-261-0261).
