Is Your Safeguarding Youth Training About to Expire?

Don’t let your certification catch you by surprise. A quick check today can help keep you current—and keep Scouting safer for everyone.

Safeguarding Youth Training (SYT) is required for every registered leader. The initial course takes about 90 minutes, followed by a 30-minute refresher each year. If your training expires, you have seven days to complete the refresher before the requirement resets to the full 90-minute course. Your registration will be suspended until you complete the required training, and while suspended, you may not have direct contact with youth.

Ready to get started? Find the training at my.scouting.org. It’s open to registered and non-registered individuals alike.
