What is Recharter?

Recharter is the process where a Scout unit renews its charter as an official part of the Scouting America. This involves:

updating your unit’s roster (including adding/subtracting members, updating contact information for individuals or your unit’s chartering organization)
- Renewal dates for individuals are now tied to their registration date instead of their unit’s charter date.
- I.E. Johnny Appleseed registered with Troop 1234 on March 1st, 2025, their renewal date is March 1st, 2026.
paying registration fees for each youth and adult member to the national Scouting America organization
paying for group insurance coverage
