As a Troop, we were able to go to Lost Pines Scout reservation in Bastrop to enjoy the annual Spring Camp-o-ree hosted by the North Shore district. Though we were constantly looking at our weather apps to be aware of any thunder storms, we made sure to have fun through the amazing opportunities provided to us. We rotated through many activities such as rifle shooting, shotgun shooting, and even archery. When Saturday neared its end, all troops at Camp-o-ree were called to the evening campfire where each troop had to perform a fun dance.
Troop 161 was given the song ‘Everything is Awesome’ from the Lego Movie and we were able to rehearse throughout the day, helping our troop be more cohesive and have a fun experience with each other. Additionally, many awards were given out to Troops that showed outstanding performance in the activities played throughout the day. Troop 161 took home many awards such as Silver spoon, Top 3 in Archery, Shotgun shooting and more. In the end, Troop 161 had a blast and we can’t wait to keep attending Camp-o-ree’s!
