Introducing Trail Tales: Your Scouting Unit’s New Easy Monthly Report Submission Tool

We are excited to unveil Trail Tales, a brand-new form designed to help Scouting units easily submit their monthly reports for publication in the District Newsletter. With Trail Tales, showcasing your unit’s achievements, activities, and updates has never been simpler or more impactful. Now, your unit can share its accomplishments with the entire Scouting community and the general public, fostering a sense of connection and pride across the district.

Why Should You Use Trail Tales? By completing Trail Tales, your unit will provide essential updates on the activities, events, and milestones that make your Scouting experience unique. These reports will be compiled into the District Newsletter, a crucial communication tool that reaches Scouts, leaders, families, and the general public. This is your opportunity to let everyone know what your unit is doing and how it’s contributing to the larger Scouting mission.

Who Should Complete Trail Tales? Trail Tales is open to everyone and is designed for a variety of Scouting leaders and youth. Any adult in a Cub Scout unit and any youth in Scouts BSA or older youth units can submit a report (adults – please coach your youth to partipate). We recommend the following individuals take charge of submitting the form:

  • Pack Secretary / Cubmaster
  • Troop Historian
  • Venturing Crew Secretary
  • Ship Media Specialist
  • OA Vice Chief of Communication

However, Trail Tales is open to anyone! This flexibility ensures that all Scouts, leaders, and families can contribute and celebrate the accomplishments of every unit.

The Purpose of Trail Tales. Trail Tales serves multiple purposes that benefit your unit and the entire Scouting community:
