The North Shore District web site was hacked earlier this month by an apparent Chinese hacker who posted a page in our root folder. Our website does not store any sensitive information about any of our visitors or contributors so there was no data that could be compromised. The hack affected our administrative interface so we were unable to perform some of our normal monthly activities like update our district calendar and publish our July newsletter (which we have now done).

It took us a while to clear the foreign files because they would mysteriously return but, we were able to block the breach, clean the site and implement tougher security measures to prevent future breaches through the efforts of our webmaster, Russell Hunter, and District Chair, Darryl Agostinelli. None of our past content was lost and we are now back to normal operations. The North Shore District owes you both a debt of gratitude.

Thank You!

Darryl & Russell
