Day of Service at Equine Rehabilitation of Central Texas
Seven OA scouts and two scouters jumped in to help painting the new fences in the paddocks at Equine Rehabilitation of Central Texas on a cool Saturday morning, January 2nd. Lisa Rivers, ERCT executive director, gave the crew an overview of the mission of the facility and highlighted a lot of the work that previous volunteers have completed. ERCT performs a rehabilitation services to assist children, veterans, and others who have undergone trauma. They also rehabilitate horses and evaluate which are well suited to serve trauma victims.
Lodge Banquet Postponed
The annual Tonkawa Lodge banquet, typically held in January, has been postponed due to the increase in COVID cases.
New Ordeal Members
Congratulations to new Arrowmen Ben Polk and Joshua Hynes who completed their ordeal at the Winter Assembly on December 7. Shout outs to Kevin Taylor and Jeffrey Hynes for their work at the assembly.

There are three conservation workdays upcoming and they will focus on planting 5000 additional pine tree seedlings along with other conservation work at Lost Pines Scout Reservation.

The sooner we can get these pine seedlings in the ground the better their chance of surviving our Texas summer so if you can, sign up for the earlier events first. These conservation days are not just limited to current members in our lodge, they can also be a good project for your home Scouting unit. This is a great way to earn conservation service hours and lend a hand on a wonderful legacy project. Each of you can make a big difference in our efforts to maintain LPSR for future generations of Scouts and their families.
