News from your Eagle Advancement Chair

In case you missed it last month, I am taking over from Mrs. Stephanie Laster as the North Shore District Eagle Advancement Chair.

As I said before, I have some big shoes to fill because Mrs. Laster did a fabulous job in communicating with and keeping track of our Eagles, their projects, and coordinating getting District representatives for Eagle Boards of Review. Now it is my turn.

I have a big ASK of each unit. And that is to identify two scouters on your committee or interested adults who would be willing to sit in on Eagle Boards of Review to become trained to represent the District at these Boards. TRAINING WILL BE PROVIDED. Currently we only have a handful of active scouters who regularly sit on these boards and some weeks we need to do as many as four boards in the same week. I need more helpers to assist us. So, I’ll be reaching out to all units to provide us more volunteers.

In the meantime, if you have even an inkling of interest in knowing what goes into a Board of Review, or if you have an Eagle candidate in your future, come and play with us. This is the most rewarding part of scouting. Seeing how these young people have matured and become the leaders of tomorrow.
