As our nation prepares to commemorate its 250th anniversary, Scouting America has officially partnered with America250 to inspire the next generation of civic leaders! This historic milestone is a fantastic opportunity for our North Shore youth to dive into the adventure of a lifetime—exploring bold ideas, visiting historic places, and teaming up with friends and family to explore what freedom means to them. Through the “Liberty in Action” challenge, Scouts have the opportunity to earn a limited-edition, collectible 250th Anniversary Challenge patch by completing fun, age-appropriate activities centered around citizenship, history, and community service.

Service is a major pillar of this national celebration. In honor of the Semiquincentennial, every unit is encouraged to strive for a goal of 250 hours of community service. From local projects like “Scouting for Clean Waterways” to the inaugural National Day of Service anchored by Scouting for Food, there are countless ways for our packs, troops, and crews to give back. Be sure to log your service hours in Scoutbook so we can track and celebrate the incredible difference our North Shore Scouts are making!
