Has Your Unit Submitted its North Shore Unit Excellence Rubric for the 2025-2026 Year?

The North Shore District Excellence Award is a new award modeled after the old Journey to Excellence system. The new award aims to help units plan and strive for excellence in many important areas of scouting. It also aims to help the entire district work together to achieve goals that are specific to our North Shore community!

Unit leaders are encouraged to print and submit the appropriate rubric for your unit type (see the links below), and use this as an opportunity to review your unit’s progress & accomplishments over the past program year (June 1, 2025 to May 31, 2026). Simply complete the rubric & tally your unit’s score to see if your unit has qualified for a bronze, silver or gold excellence award. Whether your unit has qualified for an award this year or not, we request that all North Shore Units complete & submit their rubrics. This will help us all to identify some of the real strengths of our amazing North Shore units & may also help us identify areas of focus for next year or help us set new goals for the program year ahead. This is a great exercise to do ahead of an annual or biannual planning meeting!

Once you have completed and signed your rubric, scan and email it to your district key three (submission instructions & email addresses are on the rubric form) by the end of the month! Then reach out to your unit commissioner to set up a time to review & discuss your plans for the year ahead! Don’t know who your unit commissioner is? Contact Tim Pacl our North Shore District Commissioner (email: commissioner@northshoredistrict.org) or Jennifer Fortenberry our Assistant District Commissioner for Cub Scouts! (text: 512-809-5548).
