America 250 District-Wide Service Project

As part of the America 250 celebration, the North Shore District is partnering with the Leander Public Library’s volunteer initiative to collect letters of appreciation for veterans.

We invite Scouts of all ages to write a heartfelt letter thanking a veteran for their service to our nation. A simple message of gratitude can make a meaningful impact and help honor those who have served.

Youth Protection & Privacy Reminder

Leaders and parents must review letters before submission to ensure Scouts do not include any personal or identifying information, including:

  • Home addresses
  • Phone numbers
  • Email addresses
  • Social media information
  • Last names
  • School names or other identifying details

Scouts may sign letters using only their first name, first name and troop/pack number, or another leader-approved format.

Why Participate?

This project gives Scouts an opportunity to demonstrate the Scout Oath and Scout Law through service, gratitude, kindness, and citizenship. Together, we can honor veterans while commemorating America’s 250th anniversary through messages written from the heart.

Thank you for helping make this district-wide service project a success!
