Who is your Unit Commissioner? If a name or at least a face doesn’t come to mind then we have a problem. We are building our Commissioner Corps to provide a unit commissioner for every unit. We don’t have enough yet however, if your unit doesn’t have a Unit Commissioner, you still have your District Commissioner. These are the current commissioners that serve North Shore units:
Christopher Bratton
Troop & Pack 171
Chris is a long time Scouter who has accompanied his son’s journey through Cub Scouts and Scouts BSA, Serving in various adult leadership roles in both organizations.
Dusty Herrman
Unassigned
Dusty is an Eagle Scout and has accompanied his son through the Cub Scout program as den leader. Dusty also served in various pack committee roles including Outdoor Chair, and as a district and council trrainer at Roundtable and University of Scouting..
Jennifer Fortenberry
Pack 160
Jennifer recently left her role as a pack committee chair to join the Commissioner Corps as a Unit Commissioner when her son earned Arrow of Light and graduated into Scouts BSA. She has also been a member of the district Membership Committee for more than a year.
Steven Worthy
Troops 258 & 358
Steven is the webmaster and Social Media Manager for the North Shore District communications committee and is the Scoutmaster for Troop 198 in Lago Vista. He served as Tech Lead for University of Scouting 2024 and is a merit badge counselor. All of these things demonstrate his passion for Scouting and it is his passion that makes him a great Unit Commissioner.
Michael Conte
Pack 1720
Michael is a Pack 1720 alumni and, after graduating with his Scout to join Troop 2008 as a committee member, he returned to the Pack as their Unit Commissioner. Like all good commissioners, Michael has a passion for Scouting that he serves by serving others.
Jim Bartley
Assistant District Commissioner
Jim has been a Scouter in the North Shore District at both the pack and troop level for a decade or more and was District Commissioner for North Shore. He has recently stepped down as Committee Chair for Troop 233 and is now focusing his Scouting passion on his new role as Assistant District Commissioner.
Tim Pacl
District Commissioner
I started my Scouter career in 1990 in my son’s Pack and have since served in many Scouting roles across Cub Scouting, Scouts BSA, and Exploring at the unit, district, and council level including Cubmaster, Scoutmaster, and Advisor. It was my kids that sparked my passion for Scouting and my grandkids now keep it burning brightly. Let me help make your unit thrive.
The Commissioner Corps is small right now but we are growing. We will be adding 2 to 3 more Unit Commissioners next month, but we need more. And, we need Roundtable Commissioners too. If you know a Scouter who is passionate about Scouting, lives the Scout Oath and Law, and is a servant leader. please let me know.
