The annual Friends of Scouting (FOS) campaign makes it possible to provide Scouting programs and activities across all 15 of our Central Texas counties, preparing youth for a future where they will lead as responsible, resourceful, and resilient people. People who give to Friends of Scouting provide the investment needed for advancement, camps, youth leadership training, camp scholarships, adult leader training, and unit support.

We need your help to tell the FOS story to our units and give their families the opportunity to participate in this critical effort. We will offer a special council strip patch to volunteers who commit to the following Friends of Scouting presenter guidelines:

  • Attend our council Family FOS orientation on December 13, 2023, from 6:00pm-8:00pm at the Frank Fickett Scout Training and Service Center. A second orientation is available in January.
  • Make a pledge to the 2024 Friends of Scouting campaign.
  • Commit to giving presentations to at least two Scouting units.
  • Communicate with the units as outlined in the Family FOS orientation leading up to and after the presentation.
  • Conduct a brief Family FOS presentation to each of your assigned units as outlined in the Family FOS orientation.
  • Turn in Family FOS results within 24 hours of the presentation to the District Family FOS Chair or Executive.
  • Follow up as outlined in the Family FOS orientation.

If you meet these requirements, you will be one of the few people in our council to receive an exclusive presenter council strip patch!

Worried you aren’t a good presenter? If you can talk passionately about the difference Scouting makes in children, you will be a great presenter. You’ll learn everything else you need to know in the presenter orientation.

Together, we can provide the resources for a successful Scouting year in Central Texas! Please send me a message if you would like more information (justin.brundin@scouting.org or 928-261-0261).
