North Shore District
Temporary District Executive

The Capitol Area Council is very proud that each member of the Capital Area Council staff has stepped up to take on additional assignments during our current staff shortage and the North Shore District is thrilled to be the beneficiary of their commitment and dedication to our communities and the Scouting mission. Today, we would like to announce that Doug Cooper, one of the council’s Development Directors, has volunteered to serve the Scouts and volunteers of the North Shore district.

Doug has been a Scouting Professional for over 20 years in many different roles. In the 90s he worked as a District Executive for 10 counties of the Texas Panhandle. Later, he served the city of Amarillo and eventually was the Field Director with responsibility for the Golden Spread Council covering the counties of the Texas and Oklahoma Panhandle.

He has also run many  Day Camps and Webelos Camps.

Since returning to his hometown of Austin, he has served our council as a development director assisting districts with Friends of Scouting and operating as the staff advisor for golf tournaments, sporting clays shoots, auctions and the Downtown Friends of Scouting Lunch.

He will begin contacting the volunteers of the North Shore district immediately to learn how he can serve the needs of their units. We salute Doug for his team spirit and are grateful to all the members of the Capitol Area Council staff for going above and beyond!
