Hello North Shore. I am Tim Pacl, your new District Commissioner. Before I tell you about me, I want to thank Jim Bartley for his service to our district as District Commissioner. Jim took on the role at a very challenging time when the pandemic had ravaged Scouting membership here and across the country. He kept us going through those tough times and now that we are starting to rebuild, I am grateful to have his continued support and advice as I take up the mantle he has passed to me.

My Scouting journey started as a Bear Scout in Wheaton, Maryland, 1966. Twenty-four years later I became a Scouter serving as Cubmaster of my kids’ Pack in Bremerton, Washington, 1990. Fast-forward to 2023 through a variety of roles in multiple Scouting programs and I am now taking on my biggest challenge yet, serving as your District Commissioner.

The task at hand is rebuilding the North Shore District membership, including the Commissioner Corps. A strong Commissioner Corps is the key to sustainable growth. Our goal is to have a Unit Commissioner for every unit in the district and for a commissioner to serve no more than 2 or 3 units so they will be able to provide the attention needed for each unit to thrive. If you don’t know who your Unit Commissioner is, just ask. Together, we will realize the promise of Scouting for all of the families of the North Shore District.
