Scouts from Troops 258 & 358 and Crew 158, recently participated in the Living Leander Community & Nonprofit Expo on February 28, 2025. This event, organized by the Leander Chamber of Commerce, provided a vibrant platform for local businesses, nonprofits, and community leaders to share resources and engage with the public.

Scouts from Troops 258 & 358 included Reece, Jacob, Christopher, Reyansh, Lydia, Amruta, Aasiyah, and representing Crew 158 was Christian. Scouts were front and center at the Scouting informational booth. They took the opportunity to educate attendees about the values, programs, and experiences that Scouting offers. From outdoor skills to leadership training and community service, the Scouts shared how Scouting is shaping young people for success both in their communities and in their future endeavors. The booth was interactive, with Scouts leading engaging activities for visitors to learn more about the hands-on experiences Scouting provides.

In addition to running their booth, the Scouts volunteered their time to assist Chamber vendors and employees with event cleanup once the expo ended. This act of service is a reflection of the Scout Oath and Law, which emphasizes the importance of helping others at all times and living by the principles of duty to God, country, and others.

The Living Leander Expo provided a wonderful opportunity to connect with neighbors, share information, and make a positive difference. Through their dedication and service, the Scouts and Scouters of the North Shore District exemplified the true spirit of Scouting, showing that service and leadership extend beyond the meeting hall and into the heart of the community.

The North Shore District is grateful for the opportunity to participate in such a fantastic community event, and would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Leander Chamber of Commerce for organizing the Living Leander Expo. Their support and partnership are key to helping organizations like Scouting make an impact in the local community.
