The Price – University of Scouting is always very affordable (per person price will be posted on council registration page) for 6 classes that you select from the array of topics in the Cub Scouting, Scouts BSA, and General Studies tracks. As before, we will have an option for a delicious Jason’s Deli box lunch with a choice of Ham. Turkey, Veggie, and Gluten Free.
The Midway – The midway features Scouting organizations and organizations that share Scouting’s values that may be a great resource for you and your unit(s). Browse the tables between classes or during lunch and talk with these organizations to get your questions answered and spark new ideas.
The Staff – The University of Scouting 2024 staff is amazing. They have all worked as a team to bring you this one-of-a-kind opportunity. Say hello and introduce yourself. Let them know how your UoS experience has been. You can have direct input into making the next University of Scouting even better.
The Location – We will be at the Eastview campus of Austin Community College again, centrally located within the Capitol Area Council. If that is still too far, this year we are offering the most popular 6 courses from across all 3 colleges streaming live during the day, along with the Council Key 3 Q & A over the lunch break.
The Commissioners – Commissioners of all sorts from across the Capitol Area Council will be there. The Council Commissioner, District Commissioners, Unit Commissioners, and Roundtable Commissioners. Join them in the auditorium to get answewrs to questions or to just find out what a commissioner is and how they can help you.
The Council Key 3 – Scout Executive, Jon Yates. Council President, Anooj Thakrar. Council Commissioner, Kuruvila Mani. These are the Capitol Area Council Key 3 and they will hold an open session in the auditorium over the lunch break to fill you in on the latest happenings in Scouting and to answer your questions and concerns. Don’t miss it!
The Courses – We are offering a wide variety of topics from 2024 Scouting program updates to staples of Scouting like Pinewood Derby, from DEI (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion) to AED (Automated External Difibrillators), and from CiS Merit Badge Counsellor training to Dutch oven cooking. You won’t find this variety anywhere else!
The Attendees – That’s right, you! And your fellow Scouters and volunteers. You are a great reason to come to University of Scouting. Catch up with old friends and make new friends. There will be Scouters from across the Capitol Area Council there and this is a chance to expand your Scouting network.
The Fun! – Scouting should be, and is, fun! University of Scouting is not only a chance to learn from the best about Scouting topics you need, but it is your chance to let your hair down and have fun with your fellow volunteers and Scouters.
