The CAC Shooting Sports Committee is offering a NRA Rifle Instructor Course on May 10-11 and continuing on May 17-18. This course is limited to 20 scouters. This course completes all requirements to become an NRA Rifle Instructor. The training includes both classroom and range time. The training is in two phases.
Phase 1 is the Basic Instructor Training and Basic Rifle Training.
Phase 2 is at Lost Pines and includes range proficiency.
Both phases must be completed to become certified.NOTE: This course is not for Cub Scout leaders who want to be certified as Cub BB gun range masters.
Cost: $80.00You MUST BE 21 YEARS OR OLDER Limited Exception: Scouts under 21 who plan to work at summer camp in 2019 may attend and be certified as assistant or apprentice instructors, only with the prior approval of Mr. Agnell.
Times: Friday classes on May 10 will be from 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM at the Fickett Center. The class on May 11 will start at 8:30 AM and may end as late as 9:00 pm. The class on May 17 will be in Lindsay Lodge, LPSR starting at 6:30 pm. We will continue on the 18th at Lindsay Lodge and on the rifle range.
