At Pleasant Hill Elementary School, Cub Scouts from Pack 171 opened the school’s Veterans Day assembly with a formal flag ceremony. Mary T., a Wolf Scout, served proudly as the caller, guiding the presentation. The color guard included Lions, Webelos, and an Arrow of Light Scout: Mikey T. (Lion), Henry J., Caleb B., Tim N. (all Webelos), and Samson V. (AOL). Their coordinated and respectful presentation set the tone for the assembly as students, staff, and families gathered to honor those who have served.
Troop 161 Supports the Austin Steam Train Association Event
Scouts from Troop 161 also took part in a community tribute hosted by the Austin Steam Train Association (ASTA). Representing the North Shore District, the troop welcomed Veterans with an opening flag ceremony for ASTA’s “Veterans Day Flyer: Honoring U.S. Service Members” event on Sunday, November 9, 2025.
Troop 161 Scouts Trevor J. and Desmond J. volunteered their time to support the ceremony, accompanied by adult leader Evan Jones. Their involvement helped ensure a respectful and memorable experience for veterans riding the historic train.
Pack 1720 at Cedar Park Veterans Memorial Ceremony
“We are so proud of all our scouts for their wonderful turnout and reverence at today’s Cedar Park Veterans Memorial Ceremony. It was a great honor for our Pack to be recognized by the Mayor during his opening remarks. This event is a meaningful way for our scouts to learn about and honor the Veterans in our community. Scouting is a special tradition, and it is a privilege to share these experiences with our growing Pack. A sincere thank you to all the parents and special adults who showed up today to support our scouts and this important community event.” – Cubmaster Rene Sanchez
Den Leader Joy Kulis provided Cubs with stars and a remembrance to hand out to veterans after the ceremony. Cubs helped by setting up chairs and then handed out fliers and coupons for coffee and donuts provided by City of Cedar Park.
Pack 1720 Leads Ceremny at Deer Creek Elementary
“Once again I had the honor of supporting our Scouts in a very important display of community and reverence. Donovan and Cameron were selected to present the colors and post the flags to kick off the Deer Creek Elementary Veterans Day Ceremony. They did great!
Also, I was closely watching ALL of the 5th grade Scouts and they truly did us all proud. If your Scout was in the ceremony today make sure they know how impressive they were. This is why Scouting is so special to me. I am so proud when I get to see our kids turning into such meaningful contributors to our community. To all of those of you who served, Thank You! To all of those who supported loved ones who served, Thank You!” – Cubmaster Rene Sanchez
