Calling All Medics!

We need your help! With the new changes to camping requirements at the Council and District level, we need qualified medics for any overnight event. What does “qualified” mean? You must be over 21, have current Youth Protection Training, and be one of the following:

·       Licensed physician
·       Licensed nurse practitioner
·       Nurse (RN, LPN, LVN) (NOTE: Nurse’s aides, certified nursing assistants, and assistants do not qualify)
·       Licensed physician’s assistants
·       Paramedic
·       Emergency Medical Technician (basic, intermediate, or paramedic)
·       Emergency Medical Responder (current Texas state license or current Nationally Certified First Responder listed on the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians)

Are you willing to volunteer at a Council or District event like a Camporee, Mega Training Weekend, or a Cub Scout overnight event? If so, please send your name, qualification, and contact information to Staci Kilpatrick, stacikilpatrick30@gmail.com.

COVID Safety Officer Training Available

Our council requires all in-person Council, District, and Order of the Arrow events to have a trained COVID-19 Safety Officer onsite. Free 30-minute training sessions are offered on the second Sunday of every month at 4:00 pm via Zoom. The training is open to interested adults and youth. The link to register for this training plus information about how to submit an event for approval is on the council’s camp reopening page. If you have any questions, contact caccovidtraining@gmail.com.
