North Shore District Rocket Recruiting Day was a HUGE success! Thank you to all the units that participated to make this a great event for our new families to the Scouting program. We had 76 new youth with their families attend our event! 9 scout troops and 4 cub packs set up a station around the grounds at Good News United Methodist Church and offered a fun and engaging activity for the new families to participate in. Many of those booths also taught a piece of the Bobcat rank and then stamped a passport for each of our new Scouts to take back to their Cubmaster to show they completed their Bobcat rank. The highlight of the day was the rocket launch station where each new Scout got to build and launch their very own engine rocket. We had a visit from the Cedar Park police department with their police cars and the Cedar Park fire department brought out their fire truck to offer tours on their fire engine.
This event was so much fun and such a great success that it will definitely be repeated next year. Please be on the lookout for information to come out from the membership team so you can plan to attend. We would love to see all the units from the North Shore District get in on the fun!
