Hello North Shore. Please say hello to our District Den Leader, Brian Talbot. Brian is an experienced den leader with Pack 171 and you may recognize him as our Assistant District Commissioner for Special Needs Scouting. He also  works with special-needs children in his day job so he has the trifecta of skills and experience that make him a great fit for the role.

Now you know who the District Den Leader is but I’ll bet you are wondering what a District Den Leader is. A District Den Leader is an Assistant Roundtable Commissioner who is responsible for the den program. He conducts a multilevel den meeting at each Roundtable which serves multiple purposes:

  • It is an actual den meeting for Cub Scout age kids. This means that Scout leaders with younger children who cannot be left at home unsupervised can bring them to Roundtable to participate in the district den meeting while they (the Scout leader) attend Roundtable. ScoutsBSA age kids can help with the den meeting sort of like a den chief.
  • It is a hands-on breakout session for den leaders. Den leaders can get hands on with a multilevel den, serving as an assistant den leader for the meeting. And, when the meeting is over, you can take the den program back to your pack and your den.

So, come to Roundtable! Bring your kids. Get the unique training you can’t get anywhere else. We hope to “See You Second Thursday Every Month”. SYSTEM!
