Fellow Scout Leaders — we’ve got your next step in making a difference in our community! The North Shore District has launched a brand-new sign-up form to make it easier than ever for units to get involved in upcoming recruitment, service, and community–building events throughout the year.
What’s This Form All About?
Available now, the form offers a simple, centralized way to:
- Express interest in community events (recruitment drives, civic ceremonies, seasonal festivals, and more)
- Volunteer for service-oriented opportunities
- Coordinate participation, whether it’s assisting at a parade or recruiting at a local expo
Why It Matters for Your Unit
- Streamlined engagement — Skip coordination hassles by submitting your interest through one easy form.
- Service and recognition-friendly — Many events help fulfill Community Service and Parade requirements for the District JTE Award.
- Flexible scheduling — Check off the opportunities that work for your unit and family calendars.

- Cedar Park Fall Roundup (Oct 25)
- Lago Vista Tree Lighting (early Dec)
- Leander Fall Family Campout (Nov 1)
- Service & Civic Events:
- 9/11 Commemoration, Cedar Park (Sept 11)
- Cedar Park Veterans Ceremony (Nov 8)
- Leander 5K Rudolph Run & Christmas Parade (Confirmed event—Dec 6): serve in the morning with setup and support, then march with North Shore District in the parade!
- City Council Meeting Attendance: Great for Scouts working toward citizenship, public speaking, communication, journalism, law, and other merit badges.
- 2026 Events:
- MLK Day March (Jan 19); Living Leander Expo (Feb); Jackalope Egg Hunt (Mar); Mason Heritage Day (Mar 28); Kaleidospoke glow-bike ride (Mar 20); Earth Day Cleanup (Apr); Leander Old Town Street Fest (June 6); Juneteenth Block Party (June); Lago Vista July 4th Parade (July); and more.
- Year-Round Service: Help out monthly at the Brighter Days Food Pantry during Scout Night (4th Wednesday).
How to Get Started
- Fill out the form — Include an adult leader’s name, email, unit name, and check the events you’re interested in.
- City council interest? Indicate if you’d like to arrange for your Scouts to attend a local council meeting.
- Stay connected — Complete the form to join the North Shore District’s BAND GROUP for real-time updates on volunteer, civic, and recruitment events.
