Packs Wanted! Our Can’t – Miss March Community Recruitment Event
Mark your calendars for an exciting day of history, hands-on fun, and Cub Scout recruiting! On Saturday, March 7, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, the City of Leander has invited the North Shore District to participate in a special community event at Leander’s Mason Homestead—and we need your help to make it a success.
This family-friendly event invites the community to step back in time and experience the rich history of the region. Families will enjoy food, fun, and interactive learning, with many booths offering take-home activities or hands-on experiences for participants of all ages. Pioneer-style demonstrations will include roping, branding, candle making, planting, and more, making this a perfect setting to showcase the adventure and values of Cub Scouting.
North Shore District will be hosting a Scouting booth, and we are looking for Pack Leaders to help run a few key activities:
- Whittling Chip sessions for existing Bears, Webelos, and AOLs, as well as non-registered youth in the same age range
- A knot-tying station featuring demonstrations and hands-on participation for visitors
This is a fantastic opportunity for Cubs to recruit for their units, connect with the community, and participate in the event activities while having a great time.
If you’re an interested Pack Leader and would like to help, please email service@northshoredistrict.org to sign up.
Let’s show Leander that Cub Scouting is where historic skills, hands-on learning, and family fun come together!
