Every scout deserves a trained and knowledgeable leader.

Have you ever wondered what makes the difference between a great unit and an exceptional one? It’s specialized training and networking, above and beyond the basic unit and leader-specific training. Units that invest time in advanced leadership training and high adventure resources are more likely to have exceptionally vibrant and active units with higher retention and advancement rates.

The advanced leadership courses our council offers are also not your ordinary training sessions. These courses put you directly in the middle of the action so you can personally experience trying the different skills and concepts being shared. These courses are games with a purpose and many older youth and adult leaders can attest to the fun and enthusiasm they experience both during the course and afterwards.

Registration for all three events is open with approaching deadlines. Spaces are limited to the first 48 participants. Sign up today to secure your spot!

National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT)

NYLT is a six day, five night course that gives Scouts BSA, Sea Scouts, Explorers and Venturers methods, skills and experiences to become better leaders in their unit. NYLT courses are limited to 48 participants.

As of March 1, 2019, Scouts BSA members (male and female) must be at least 13. They must have completed Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops.
