The Capital Area Council Climbing committee would like to extend an invitation to all Scouting units to get outside and go climbing.

Cub Scouts are encouraged to engage in climbing; Webelos Scouts are encouraged to engage in climbing and rappelling in a controlled environment with close supervision by instructors who are knowledgeable about instructing this age group. … Age-appropriate guidelines can be found at www.scouting.org.

Doks Tower at Lost Pines is available now, you may select a Saturday however you may come out on a Friday night tower event under the lights or maybe a Sunday morning event. If you have a small number of scouts, no worries, you may share the event with another unit.

There is a new C.O.P.E. course at Lost Pines! The objectives of COPE are to develop leadership, problem solving, self-esteem, communication, trust, decision-making, and teamwork with a heavy dose of FUN.

If you prefer the natural area, then Enchanted Rock is perfect for you.  The climbing committee has all the necessary equipment available for rent for this event.

If you are interested in any climbing activities you may reserve the outdoor natural climbing equipment or reserve the facilities at Lost Pines directly at the Camp reservation web application, by contacting the committee via email, or by contacting the climbing committee chair Steven Smith.

Rock climbers must check in at park headquarters and sign the climbing release form. You can pick up route maps there and read the climbing rules. Read through our Climbing Information before you come.
