On behalf of Capitol Area Council and the North Shore District Troops 219 & 271, we welcome you to this fall’s event at the Smilin V Scout Ranch.
Your staff has been working hard to plan a fun event that will showcase your unit and enjoy our North Shore scouting community. The event is scheduled for December 6-8, 2024 in Liberty Hill. If you’ve been to one before, you know that this is an annual event, hosted by a Crew or Troop, inviting all North Shore District Units:
- Older scout units – Troops, Crews, and Ships – will camp individually as units in designated campsites. Each unit is asked to sponsor a station for the rotations on Saturday. Units may camp overnight Friday and/or Saturday or come out for the day on Saturday. If your unit plans to arrive or leave on Saturday please let us know ahead of the weekend.
- Packs – Arrow of Light only (5th graders) – bring your den for a one-night campout* or join us for the day. On Saturday come participate in activities that the older Scout units host, a camp wide challenge, and campfire. Your den will camp as a unit in your designated campsite across from the older Scout units.
During the day on Saturday, Arrow of Light Scouts will rotate through the unit stations. All Scouts will compete in a camp-wide challenge Saturday afternoon. Additional competitions will be held for campsites, campfire performance, entryways, Scout spirit, food and the Top Unit. Units are encouraged to bring their favorite campfire skits and songs with an Amazing Race twist to share in the evening campfire.
OA will offer a Brotherhood Ceremony.
Fee – $15 per participant
* For overnight camping, AOL dens must provide two-deep adult leadership, including a BALOO-trained leader.
